Venue Guide

Sherwood Football Club play matches at different venues in Nottingham: Melbourne Park, Aspley (Grass), The Forest Sports Zone, Forest Fields (3G) and, for our Under 7s, Haydn Road Sports Ground (Astroturf). You will find information on all of these venues below.

THE FOREST SPORTS ZONE (FSZ) – 3G

PLEASE NOTE: A brand new 3G pitch was laid at the Forest Sport Zone in the summer of 2026. Please familiarise yourself with the Recommended Footwear – players and coaches will not be allowed on the pitch if they are not wearing the recommend footwear and/or do not follow the Pitch Rules.

Entrance: Directly off Gregory Blvd. As seen below.

Pitches: The FSZ has one full-size 3G pitch for U13+, two half-pitches for U11- U12 and four mini-soccer pitches for U7 – U10. Please make your way up to the pitches to find out which pitch your team is playing on.
Facilities: Reception, changing rooms, toilet, vending machines.
Car parking: There is a car park on site. This tends to get very busy on match days. Further parking is available at the business centre on the other side of the main road and also on the street.
Nearby: There is a cafe on the adjoining Forest Recreation Ground, along with a play park and paths for walking/jogging.
Dogs: No dogs are allowed at the FSZ (inside the fence), but they can be walked on the Forest Recreation Ground.
Nearest hospital with A&E: Queens Medical Centre, NG7 2UH. 3 miles from the FSZ.
Nearest NHS Walk-in Centre: NHS Urgent Treatment Centre, NG2 4LA. 2 miles from the FSZ.
Nearest Defib: At the FSZ pavilion, on the outside wall next to the pitch.

MELBOURNE PARK (MP) – GRASS

Address: Melbourne Park, Melbourne Road, Aspley, Nottingham NG8 5HJ Note: This postcode will take you very close, near the entrance to MP, on Melbourne Road

Entrance: Directly off Melbourne Road. As seen here. There is no sign, and it can be easy to miss.
Pitches: There are several 11v11 and various smaller pitches at MP. Sherwood could be playing on any of the available pitches – we don’t know which until an hour before KO – please look around to find the team you are playing.
Facilities: Changing rooms, toilet. There is an on-site cafe (not operated by Sherwood FC) which is usually open on match days.
Car parking: There is ample car parking on site.
Nearby: There is a Greggs and other shops within a 15-minute walk of MP.
Dogs: Dogs on leads are allowed.
Nearest hospital with A&E: Queens Medical Centre, NG7 2UH. 3 miles from MP.
Nearest NHS Walk-in Centre: NHS Urgent Treatment Centre, NG2 4LA. 4 miles from the MP.
Nearest Defib: At the MP pavilion, on the outside wall facing the access road.

HAYDN ROAD SPORTS GROUND – ASTROTURF

Location and parking: Haydn Road Sports Ground can be accessed via Haydn Road, near the Nottingham Free School, use postcode NG5 1EB, or via the shared Pirate Playcentre car park off Rowley Drive, use postcode NG5 1GD. The permitted parking areas are shown in green on the map below, with pedestrian entrances marked by green circles.


Pitch and boots: The pitch is ‘old school’ astroturf. Flat soled boots, trainers or astroturf boots are recommended.
Facilities: Changing rooms and toilets are available onsite, although they a quite a way from the pitch.
Nearby: There is a small convenience store (corner shop) within walking distance. (The Cafe seen on the map isn’t open at weekends). There is an indoor soft-play centre next door.
Dogs: While not encouraged, dos are allowed on the neighbouring field.
Nearest hospital with A&E: Queens Medical Centre, NG7 2UH. 3 miles from MP.
Nearest NHS Walk-in Centre: NHS Urgent Treatment Centre, NG2 4LA. 3 miles from the site.
Nearest Defib: At the pavilion, on the outside wall facing the field.

Please do not park on Rowley Drive or in the Gossard/Courtaulds car park, which are marked in red on the map below.
