Sherwood FC has welcomed an unprecendented number of new players to the Club as part of the U7's 2014 intake. We have 35 players involved and we'll be looking to run 4 teams over the course of this season.

Everything at Sherwood is done on a voluntary basis by the parents of the players and having four teams means there are a lot of jobs to do.

Coaching: Our Coaches and adminstrators are all volunteer parents and and the blue/Yellow and Green/Red teams are administrated together, ideally each team would have its own administrator. Again we are happy to carry on as we are but if you are interested please speak to John (Blue/Yellow), Hermione (Red/Green).

Pre-match Set up: When our teams are at home there are various jobs to do before kick off, clearing the pitch of dangerous/unpleasant objects, setting up goals, corner flags and respect lines etc. Ideally the coaches will be warming the players up so if anyone can turn up a little earlier to help it would be greatly appreciated.

Referees: each time we have a home match, we will need one of our parents (not the coaches) to referee the match. It would be great to have a list of parents who are happy to do this, so that it is easy to find someone each time. The best thing might be to have a go during the practice matches that happen every training session,  and the coaches will be able to answer any of your questions.

Here's the basic rules at this level.

Cafe at Carrington Sports Ground – to help raise funds for the use of the sports ground, the club is starting up a cafe to serve teas and coffees etc while the matches are on. To make this work, they are trying to set up a rota of people willing to help; so if you'd occasionally be happy to spend a bit of time making teas/coffees etc while your child plays football, then let me know and we'll pass your name on.

New Players* - we currently have 35 players registered for 4 teams as well as a long waiting list. We will not be taking anymore players this season. If you have any further enquiries please contact John (johnnylate21a@gmail.com or Hermione (hermione.berthels@googlemail.com).

Otherwise we advise you try to contact other teams in the area.

*please note this only applies to U7's
